A rare mountain cap issued to mountain troops of SA- Alpine regions in southern Bavaria. Worn by Skijäger.
This style eventually led to the development of the M43 cap used by the Army/ Luftwaffe . A typical M43 type design with two front buttons. Aluminum 1st pattern eagle. white Bakelite Edelweiss hand- stitched to the left side. The cap has the correct black RZM label “Ski Mutz” and maker number etc. The interior is ribbed lined, and the shadow of a makers label can be seen. There is no leather sweatband, as this is a 1st pattern cap.
An extremely rare SA Ski Cap introduced in 1933 and used by SA troops during skiing activities in the Alpine regions in southern Bavaria .
