Product Information
A textbook example of a die stamped unmarked Deumer. The face is in fine condition with no rust at all. The shield is mounted on a field-green wool base with an alloy backing plate with 2 prongs joining the two. Being a uniform removal, some of the thread is still present in the wool; a lovely touch of provenance.
The Crimean Campaign shield was worn on the upper left sleeve of the tunic. It was instituted in 1942 for personnel who had engaged in combat, were wounded or served three months in the Crimean peninsula campaign.
