This Army buckle comes with a period belt that has been altered very possibly a period alteration. The tongue has been removed – and sewn on further down to make it much shorter – it also has had felt added to act as a cushion the repairs or alterations to the belt have been done a very long time ago and it looks like a professional job and all the stitching looks to have been done by the same hand

With almost 100% of the original finish remaining to the buckle – this set is a great addition to your collection. Stamped Steel construction and marked on the reverse N&H with a date where only the 4 is visible denoting the maker to be Nolle & Hueck, Lüdenscheid

The paint colour is the Dark Blue shade that is often mistaken for KM issue only - in my opinion this buckle was meant for all branches and not just the Heer and Kriegsmarine.

In 1943 the Heer Einheitkoppelschloss in a dark blue colour known as Graublau was introduced.
