This saddle-form cap is piped in black waffenfarbe with a ribbed centre band and sought-after green visor peak underside. The silk lining and celluloid diamond are in very good condition, and the highly desirable maker is clearly stamped “Original Schellenberg Stirndruckfrei D.R.G.M. Sonderklasse” meaning the brand is a registered design of the German Reich. Size 58 approx. Some colour fade on the cockade, fortunately the eagle prongs remain intact. The cap retains a great shape, and is machine stitched to the ersatz leather sweatband -Caps from this branch are exceptionally hard to find. The condition of this one rates as excellent.
