Colourful Commemorative Plate for Panzerjager Abteilung 171 - France Campaign May- June 1940

This is a lovely commemorative plate that measures a Depth of 50 mm. and a Diameter of 297 mm (unpacked) The makers mark is for Echt uppack porcelain factory located in Tiefenfurt (now Parowa, Poland) The "S" below the crown refers to the owner, K. Steinmann.
It charts the journey of the unit from 10th May 1940 until the end of the French campaign on 18th June 1940. In Mint condition, these rarely come onto the market, and it makes a beautiful display piece.
Panzerjäger -Abteilung 171 was an Anti-tank unit of the German Army which was subordinated to the 71st Infantry Division . It participated in the invasion of France, among other campaigns, and was later destroyed on the Eastern Front in the Battle of Stalingrad. The unit was formed in 1939 and fought on the Western Front.
