Stunning with character and rare!
These are just a few of the words I use to describe this combat helmet. It is an M35 re-issued helmet. The overpaint has been done throughout, inside and outside. It is difficult to see a makers mark, but the liner is size 55. The overpaint is fantastic, and period applied.The Adler on the side is near perfect as you can get, BUT the tri-colour side is even more amazing. The paint, over the years, has started to craze, and crack, and snippets of the tri-colour can just be seen. The rivets are tight, and have never been disturbed, there is a light coat of “rust” under the rivets, I would expect from bad storage over the years. The leather interior is dry, and could do with some light treatment, but I will not touch it, as that is best left to the new owner to do if he/she wants to.
There is no chinstrap with the helmet. But I can tell you that this is as fresh as they come to the market. It has only ever been in one collection before, and has not been seen doing the rounds. A super rare and exciting helmet, worth every penny of the asking price, again…………find another!!
