Orange soutache for Feldgendarmerie, one of the least commonly found Deutches Heer branches, with only a small amount of loss on one of the edges. There are trace markings of the maker, and a date of 1941 on the inside liner. The cap is in a good worn condition, with desirable character features; the eagle showing rubbed highlights (an indicator of being worn under a helmet for an extended period of time). There is a field repair to the back of the cap as the photos show, it appears to have been burnt, then hand-darned over in fieldgreen yarn to a very high standard. A very rarely seen cap with great features.
