This is a stunning helmet and an unrepeatable offer. I have had this for many years, and feel it is time for it to move on

This double decal helmet has almost all you would want in a combat helmet. Firstly it has had at least 3 previous eagle decals, the shadow of the previous ones can clearly be seen under the present one. There is a scratch across the swastika. The Tri colour has been carefully painted over, and over the 80 odd years , it has cracked exposing the colours nicely. I believe this has been painted over in the Luftwaffe blue colour; there are run marks where the paint has dripped down. The Shell is stamped EF68 for- Emaillerwerk AG, Fulda and a lot number of 3942 stamped to the rear skirt. The inside of the shell at the crown, is the name of the former owner

The helmet liner is Size 59! All tongues and drawstring are present, and inside is the cherry on the cake. Stamped up for “Watch Battailion 1” and a date of 1938. This was an honour guard detachment;

The Wachbataillon would have numbered about 1,000 soldiers.
