This was the local level. There was also a Gausieger for the state level award. All were greatly desired and worked for. Competitions were held every spring in the Reichsberuf Wettkampf der Deutschen Jugend – the idea being the promotion of worthy young men who would be the future tacticians and hierarchy of labour.
Competitors were tested in the theory and practice of their profession, as well as in their adherence to Nazi ideology. Women were also tested in housekeeping. The winners were presented to Labour Front head Robert Ley and to Hitler in person, and could expect substantial professional advancement.
This is a fantastic, not to be “bettered” mint example of the Kreissieger Award dated for the last year the competitions were held, except for the painted 1944 one; no other competitions were run during the conflict years. Manufactured by Ferdinand Wagner, this is a superior maker, and the award/badge is in mint condition, This one would be hard to upgrade from, Why buy a tired/worn example, when you can buy the best. The back has a part name? scratched into it – period? I don’t know, and can’t say, but it is a nice touch
