This stunning HJ Gefogschatsfahne is in virtually mint condition, it only has a few stains on the flag. It has a white unit corner patch sewn on each side. That patch – 18/744 is for the area of Guebweiler and is shown in Wilhelm Saris book on the HJ Bann numbers page 625 – currently this area now called Guebwiller is in the Alsace region of France. This region was often fought over by the Germans and French.
It is a complete and original set, with the flag itself still having its original paper RXM label!
5 of the 6 rings are marked RZM M3/40 and the pole top M3/40 -bayonet type AND a totally original very hard to get 2 piece pole again RZM marked M3/40 /38 .
M3/40 is for the manufacturer Gebrüder Cosak, in Neheim. All the same maker And date!!!
One ring has been added at the top end as that is not RZM marked, and there is a small repair also to the top – where I imagine it was liberated at the end of the war. The top part of the pole has bowed slightly – which proves that this item was flown and carried and not put away somewhere- it would be like that because of the weight –
Over several decades of collecting flags, the only poles I’ve ever encountered were with just the upper section only
Bottom pole sections are seldom, if ever, found. Most surviving poles follow the most common flags made, i.e., NSDAP, NSBO, and DAF, with chamfered ends.
Although there are only a few photographs that I have included- I can, and will take high resolution photos if anyone is seriously interested in becoming the new custodian of a true piece of history – Please be aware that I will only ship this item through a recognized secure carrier – and it will be expensive – but worth every penny.
