A very clean and tidy example of an early transitional Hitler youth Dagger. This has the smaller diamond and nickel rivets to the black Bakelite handle dating it to pre 1937. The RZM licence was granted in 1935. The diamond has a slight “wobble” – as it should and is free from any chips splits or breaks. The handle – being nickel does not show any wear marks at the top, The blade is an un-sharpened example and has a nice readable etch to it. The obverse shows the full maker mark of H&F Lauterjung – Solingen together with it’s RZM Licence M7/6. The scabbard retains around 70% of the original paint, and has that “worn look” All leather is intact and the closing button functions. This is an early desirable transitional dagger, from an un common maker.
