Panzer Grenadier  This is a mint NCO/OR side cap in a large size

Beautiful large sized unworn and in mint condition sized 61 This is an Afrika Korps overseas cap piped in lime green for Panzer Grenadiers. Ribbed olive/khaki, cotton twill construction cap. Worn by the DAK during the African campaign. The branch of service soutache is applied to the front consisting of an inverted lime green “V” flanking the national tri-colour cockade, denoting Panzer Grenadier  with one enamelled grommet per side, the woven tropical pattern Heer national emblem and rosette are applied in the fashion typical for this firm, the national emblem is factory machine zig zag stitched and the rosette is straight machine stitched 

The interior of the cap is fully lined in light weight red cotton. The lining is well marked with a black size inkstamp, “61″, the manufactures name and location, “F. Weissbach Glauchau”, and, “E. 41″, indicating the cap passed through the army’s clothing depot in Erfurt in 1941.
