We have, for sale, a pair of matching lot numbered Kreigsmarine helmets; in all probability these were from the same man and a unique addition to any serious collection. 2 helmets with the same lot numbers is a unique opportunity to own a true piece of history, named to an officer!.
We would prefer to sell them as a pair, as it would be a shame to split them, but if you would like to purchase one, we can discuss the possibility
These helmets were “liberated” by a member the Green Howards with the surname of Longdon around the Normandy Landings in June 1944; He was wounded by a sniper in Belgium and lost a lung, but survived the war. These helmets were purchased from his daughter, and have never been in a collection before. Sadly there is no proof of this story, but we have no reason to doubt its authenticity.
