      A  very rare variant of the Iron cross. So called Ubergrosse because of its unusually large size (47.5mm as opposed to the standard 44-45 mm). Some believe these variants to be early prototypes of the Knight’s Cross, as many were later converted by changing the ring loop and ribbon. Due to their scarcity they Command 5x the price of a regularly marked EK2, an Ubergrosse/KC conversion recently sold on Ratisbons for €1950. This EK2 is in exceptionally fine, unpolished condition, and the ribbon is flawless.
