This is a superb example of an ϟϟ  dagger that would be  impossible to upgrade from.

The patina is stunning, and although I have tried to take decent photographs, they just do not do it justice.

All nickel fittings have that aging dull grey colour that is impossible to replicate. The dark and crisp, acid etched “Meine Ehre Heisst Treue” motto and “Böker Solingen” maker mark are both beautifully executed and provide a wonderful contrast to the bright blade. There are a few runner marks and a couple of very small marks near the motto, and can be seen in the photos, but that is it!

The black anodized scabbard has a wonderful finish, with a lot of originality remaining, there are a couple of “rust” high points showing!

It has one pressure mark to the ball socket on the base (as usual) On the rear side of the scabbard can be seen a wear mark where a hanger had once been. The solid nickel fittings are perfect. None of the four scabbard screws have ever been turned. The scabbard/hilt fit is Böker perfect and is a tight slide into the scabbard. The cross guards are perfect , matching the scabbard fittings in colour and wear.

The reverse of the lower fitting is district stamped “I” (Munich). The black hardwood grip looks wonderful and is far ahead than most SS daggers! There are several pressure marks on the front, and a couple on the rear, but no splits chips or cracks evident The solid nickel eagle is wonderfully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SS roundel retains 100% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! Böker daggers are the most attractive and sought after ones by collectors, they are hard enough to track down ordinarily, but to find one that is totallyuntouched” You will not find one

Whilst this is anything but cheap, I paid a fair price for it, it is current to the market price. These items never drop in value, and it will be the best investment you will ever make

I do know the history of this dagger. It came to me locally from the family of the deceased, where it had lain hidden away since the end of the war. The Major that owned it brought it back, died in the 60’s and his son took over the house, He never discovered it and when he passed away, it was found. I sold it 4 years ago, and had the opportunity of buying it back – A chance that I jumped at, as I know it has only ever been with one collector.

UK Sales only – unless you want it shipped via DHL at cost
