Die struck alloy lapel badge with multi-coloured enamel work. The roughly 28mm diameter badge features the black enamel profile of a Ju-52, aircraft in flight. Maker marked “J. Priessler” and serial numbered. This badge is 1000% period, in a sea of fake ones!
Besides the secretarial and clerical positions female civilians were also employed as Flugmeldedienstpersonel – Aircraft Reporting Service, personnel that were tasked with operating assorted aircraft visual and sound detection equipment, and radar stations to warn of incoming enemy aircraft.
This second pattern badge (1936) was authorized for wear for the duration of the war when the personnel were in civilian clothing and only if it had been bestowed prior to 1938. On issue the badge was accompanied by an official permission for wear document.
