This beautiful untouched M40 combat helmet has not been disturbed for years. This helmet has a thick  lightish green over paint that is slightly textured; in fact it has been sprayed so thick that it has covered the air vents around their edges. The bonus on this helmet is that there is a decal underneath the paint, where a faint outline can just be seen, but it is there – believe me –  It is difficult to photograph, but I can try and supply extra ones should you wish.

All of the rivets are tight, and show slight rusting on the inside, there is heaps of muck dust/dirt inside the liner band and it is an ET64 shell and a size 58 liner, with period applied drawstring. The leather is intact, but dry, not cracked or fragile, just dry. There is no chinstrap, but a period one would enhance it.

The left corner has taken a hit, as there is a slight indent, where that has come from I do not know, but it has been there for a very long time – possibly when in use – who knows.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire an M40 helmet that is – a true camouflaged helmet – I remember my training – shape shine shadow silhouette –– That is the basis of camouflage- no pink hues, red stripes or anything fancy – a true “one off” Camo that ticks all of the boxes!!!
