Product Information
A very nice German M43 Heer non-commissioned officers wool combat tunic for a Stabsfeldwebel. (Sgt Major)
It is in overall excellent condition. Tunic is constructed from a Mid/Late war wool and has been period tailored. It was upgraded with a M36 bottle green collar. The early and rarer Heer breast eagle, and it has the later (correct) generic collar tabs which are machine stitched The NCO tress is machine straight stitched. Interior of the tunic is complete with no condition issues. All insignia I believe is original to the tunic.
The manufacturer is cleanly stamped “HV Gazan 1943″. Corroborating this is the eagle stitching, which is sewn through the lining; this a specific trait to this manufacturer
The lining is a silk/rayon mix, and is size and date stamped. All front, cuff and neck shirt collar buttons are present. The The Stabsfeldwebel shoulder straps are the early pointed ones with no coloured piping and are in excellent condition, and complement the tunic perfectly.
On the left breast pocket a single award loop is present. Interestingly, there exists an area of shadow on the upper right sleeve, outlined by multiple strands of cotton thread; the shadow and stitching perfectly matches a Tank Destruction Badge, which is very sadly not present.
The Stabsfeldwebel rank was generally reserved for those soldiers who had signed on for full enlistments in the Reichsheer (interwar German Army), which required a man to sign on for 12 years.
