Nice quality, private purchase, 1936 pattern Shako This example has a body of blue-green wool that is in near excellent condition, remaining clean with minor “nipping” to one side  The black leather cap shows minor wear and a small amount of crazing on the top, but is otherwise in excellent condition. The black Vulcan fibre on the front and rear, indicate use by the Schutzpolizei. Black fittings denote City Police. This differed from the rural police –Wachtmeister –  where all the above was in brown colour.

The one-piece silver finished aluminium eagle and wreath is excellent, .The removable aluminium cockade is excellent as well. This example has a black leather chinstrap , with no fading ,  the underside of the visor is finished in the typical green hue. The brown leather liner is complete with a drawstring As a bonus it is also NAMED on the inside and the inside crown is  maker marked for “Lubstein” plus it is  a generous size -59! .
