This is a fantastic, untouched and uncleaned early SA dagger by ‘ASSO’ –  Arthur Schuttelhofer l

 Their trademark is crossed ‘hobby horses’ and The dagger has not been cleaned or polished with the nickel crossguards and scabbard fittings having lots of patina and turned a darker yellow colour. Lower crossguard has the Gau mark of Ns which is for the district of Neidersachen. Nice dark wood grip. With eagle and SA button. It has never been taken apart. Scabbard has ALL of the original lacquer over the brown anodising! There is a very small and very shallow dent to the front of the scabbard body. Blade is beautiful and stunning with a deep black etch and has all of the original crossgrain polish. There are a couple of minor old finger smudges on the back of the blade. The SA motto is very crisp and very dark. Near the crossguard the original owner has scratched his initials ‘KAM’. The reverse ricasso has the Asso trademark. A great dagger one that would compliment a collection – early untouched SA’s have become impossible to find.
