A very unusual and exceptionally rare small “car pennant” These came in different colours for area of Germany – and personnel – so far I have found only high ranking officers of the NSFK had “Red pennants”. The centre of the flag has a beautifully woven NSFK insignia. The insignia consists of Icarus the mythological god who flew to close to the sun with wax wings. The figure is highly detailed and in each hand he is holding handles which are attached to his wings. There is a mobile swastika superimposed over his legs. Above Icarus’ head is the NSFK banner. This insignia is woven which is in turn sewn to the pennant. The “fly end” has re-enforced stitching. See pictures for additional info on hanging etc:
