Product Information
This is a Late-war Quist M40 with the Q66 maker/size marking stamped in the rear. The helmet was camouflaged with a brush-applied two colour pattern that shows considerable wear. A lovely liner with drawstring, size 58 and shows wear around the rim. The split-pins are original to the helmet , and the pins are tight. There is a small amount of rust that has formed in the crown – and there is some rust on the tags for the pins. I am suspecting that at some point this helmet was stored badly, and a pool of water would have caused this. There is no chinstrap. I also believe that the leather liner “may” have been replaced, although there is no real reason to suspect this - I’m trying to be truthful…….. It is entirely possible that the leather only has been skilfully replaced. You can make your own mind up about it
The helmet displays very well and is a beautiful combat-worn example
