The competition was open to all “eligible” Germans and was ‘sponsored’ by the HJ & DAF, that’s why the HJ/DAF symbolism…..and , many of the participants were HJ/DAF members…..but it was open to all. Kreissieger means District Winner,

This was the local level award. There was also a Gausieger for the state level award. All were greatly desired and worked for. Competitions were held every spring in the Reichsberuf Wettkampf der Deutschen Jugend  - the idea being the promotion of worthy young men who would be the future tacticians and hierarchy of labour.

This is a fantastic, mint example of the Kreissieger Award dated for the last year the competitions were held, except for the painted 1944 one; no other competitions were run during the conflict years.

Herman Aurich Kreissieger badges are very hard to come by – and they are not easy to find with as much finish still on the front of the badge, as this one has.

Aurich is the only maker  that applied this type of coating, making it, almost, a golden colour and of course a  whole diamond is another bonus, I’m not sure why all the catches and hinges on Aurich badges have this darker area on them, but they are all the same, when you can find them.
