Exceedingly rare example of the Type 1 version of the  German Cross in Gold – cloth version with backing material of Dark Blue for the armed service of Kreigsmarine. 

This un-issued un-worn award is a “textbook” example by the maker Hermann Schmuck.

This has the early “thick” swastika, along with the type 1 wreath by Junker, complete with the die flaw at the top of the nine, and the regulation 13 notches under the date.

KM DKiG’s are much harder to come by than any other service, type 1 examples are even harder!. This is a superb example of German craftsmanship at its utmost best
