This is an affordable extremely well presented early SA Dagger by Carl Schmidt Sohn A-G, Solingen In both Ralph Siegert’s SA Dagger Book and the “McSarr” rarity scale, ranked as a “9” out of “10” reflecting production numbers of approximately 1000.

Nickel-silver fittings show light wear with reverse lower crossguard marked “Ns” for Niedersachsen

Brown wooden grip shows light surface wear but, no chips or cracks, with a few minor “nicks” and with silver grip eagle  nicely inserted  the SA button has a small amount of damage to the wood surrounding the SA roundel. The blade grades as excellent showing very minor surface wear with runner marks and no nicks or cuts to the cutting edge.The maker  Carl Schmidt Sohn A-G, Solingen in a circle with a house shown on the obverse. Deep etched motto retains 90% of the light grey background frosting. Dent-free, scabbard retains approximately 90% of the brown anodization and 40% of the protective lacquer with no damage or rust. Nickel-silver scabbard fittings show no wear and the ball has a small dent. The to[ fitting is missing a screw. A truly superb example of a rare maker. One not to be missed –
