From the same source as the daggers and EK1 listed elsewhere, this is a lovely big sized (58) garrison side cap for the Wehrmacht. The insignia is totally original to the cap, with a few stitches coming away from the cockade. There is a small “trace” outline of where the soutache would have been, but this has been carefully removed as per 1940 regulations. Single grommet cap, woollen construction, there are a couple of “light” marks to the side, either through rubbing something or sitting next to for a long time, with some good clear makers marks size and date (1939) on the inside. Never before in a collection, it is difficult to find items not previously owned. If you want an item that is “fresh” to the market, this is the one to go for!
