Order Veteran's Hamburg Field Honour Award Veteran's Hamburg Field Honour Award @ £85.00

This non-official state award had to be applied for and worn to commemorate service in World War I. This semi-official award denoted war service without requiring membership in other veteran organizations. Its awarding and wear was banned in November 1935. It is constructed out of a multi-piece die struck tombak/nickel-silver base that has been silver washed and burnished gold gilded and contains white enamel work. The obverse depicts a centrally placed oval emblem of a battle wary soldier returning home from WWI, surrounded by a beaded golden border above a white enameled pattée style cross and two crossed golden broad swords, all above able a six-pointed star. The full back reverse shows two rivets and reads: “Deutsches Feld-Ehrenzeichen Hamburg 11” and “Ges. Gesch”. It also has a soldered-on block hinge, round wire catch and wire pin.
