.He had missions to England in March 1941; he was shot down & wounded on his 81st combat mission – Rostow; he recovered and continued flying until he was shot down in Ju-88/9K-KR on 21 July 1942, his 137th combat mission, Awarded EK I on 17 July 1941, Black Wound Badge on 8 December 1941,
