Extremely desirable and probably the only one of its kind this is an interesting banner… Possibly from the party organization within the Walter Rau Lebensmittelwerke GmbH & Co. KG

The WALTER RAU Company products included margarines, spreads, edible fats, and oils – a retail foodservice founded in 1903 and based in Hilter, Germany.

It could also be from the ship of that name. WALTER RAU

Walter Rau was one of the ships in Operation Hannibal, the German evacuation of Courland (Kurland) in 1945, which also included the ill-fated Wilhelm Gustloff. A whaling ship she took part in the 30 January 1945 Baltic Sea evacuation ,which is cited as one of the worst maritime disaster in history. The East and West-Prussian refugees on the Walter Rau made it to Eckernfoerde

As Per the NSDAP organization book it seems all you needed was 50 members to form a group. I am unsure of which one it would represent – most probably the ship – as the Factory would have had the DAF flag – it could also be possible but not probable that it was a town called Walter Rau that has since disappeared

The flag has 2 brown patches – one on each side,  edged with Orts level blue, and chain stitched lettering. It is double sided with no mothing, multi stitched centre – silver aluminium tassel to three sides and 6 rings none of which are RZM marked.

All in all a rare flag, that has the benefit of being researched further – being a parade banner this one would look fantastic on a pole with a 2nd pattern NSDAP pole top
